Ezzell Papers
Presbyterian Church History
Belgreen, Franklin County, Alabama

Home > History > Ezell Papers - Presbyterian Church History

The information below is from documentation of papers in possession of Pam Moore, granddaughter of Walter Wade and Audrey (Tompkins) Ezzell that she inherited from her grandparents.

This is about the Belgreen Baptist Church.  I do not know who wrote it.

Presbyterian Church

The Cedar Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church was organized on August 27, 1877.

The first building was located near Cedar Creek approximately two miles north of the Franklin County Landfill. This one room building was also used for one of the earlier schools in the area.

A new church was built in 1965 on highway 24 East of Belgreen on land deeded to the church by the M. F. Wood estate. A recreational room was built adjacent to the church using material from the original church, Ira B. Sherrell, present pastor.
