| Glasgow men have faithfully served our country during war and
peace while the families, proud of their loved ones, prayed for their safe return.
The list below is a partial list to try and pay tribute for their efforts in defending
this great country of ours the "United States of America". If you would
like for your Glasgow Ancestor or Glasgow relative who served in the Armed Forces to be
placed on this page, please let me know. For Glasgow men who served in the War Between The States or the Civil War, I have placed them on a seperate page. To view this page please go here: Glasgow Men and the Civil War. We have no idea how traumatic it must have been as young boys were sent straight from the farm to foreign countries to do battle during the days of World War II. It surely took brave souls to withstand the hardships and horrors this war produced. They came back home with a different look in their eyes, as young men matured quickly in battle or in the anticipation of battle. And when they came home it would never be the same. As the Korean War and then Vietnam took so many soldiers, they valliantly fought for their country and some came back home to try and start a new life. We are proud of them and thank them for the sacrifice they gave so willingly that we may live in the free country we enjoy today. The underlined names are links that will open a new window in your browser so you can see and read about these special men. After you read about each soldier, click on the X in the right hand corner of your browser to close that window so you can click on the name of another soldier. This page will stay open in your browser while you view each soldier's information in a new window. Or press the 'Close this window' button and you will return to this page.
