Continuing story of The Weaving of Lives in Our Family Fabric - page 3 When my Grandmother and Granddaddy married there was a child on the way in a short time. My grandmother said to me that at the age of 18 she had already had at least one child and had the responsibility of a home and family. My grandfather was a car salesman in Russellville and my grandmother stayed home to raise the family and work in the garden. I have the cedar chest and a cake plate that he won because of his salesmanship. He was selling Fords at the dealership. She told me that he would have won more had he not been working with the son of the owner because the son came first when the awards were given out. But times were good and they were all happy as far as I can remember being told. |
