Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Belmont Church of Christ for Mrs. Dora Lucille Malone.  Ministers Tommy Rosenbloom and Jerry Steele officiated. Burial was in Lindsey Cemetery with Deaton Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Malone, age 72, died on Thursday morning, May 13, at the Tupelo Community Hospital. She had the misfortune recently of breaking a leg and hip and then a few days later suffered a stroke. She is the widow of Earnie Malone who preceded her in death 11 years ago. Mrs. Malone was a resident of Belmont for 35 years.

Survivors include 6 daughters, Mrs. Clara Searcy and Mrs. Dexter Mae Posey of Dennis, Mrs. Geraldine Sartain and Mrs. Lorene Haynie of Corinth, Mrs. Virgie Waddle of Zion, Illinois, and Mrs. Rachel Bruton of Belmont; six sons, Virgil Malone of Cold Water, Mississippi, Elree and Preston Malone of Belmont, Lumis Malone of Memphis, Sgt. Reese Malone of the U. S. Air Force, Alaska, and Wayne Malone of the U. S. Air Force, Nashville; three sisters, Mrs. Floy Gardner and Mrs. Kate Spicher of Memphis, Mrs. Carl Brown of Belmont; two brothers, John James of Memphis and Wilson James of Savannah, Illinois; twenty-one grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Joe Vaughn, Ellis Carr, Leon Northington, Robert Williams, W. C. Dickerson, Jr., and Bobby Patterson.

To all our many friends we want to express our sincere and heartfelt thanks for the many kindnesses shown us during the long confinement to a wheel chair, illness and death of our dear loved one. Our special thanks to the ministers, Jerry Steele and Tommy Rosenblum, Deaton Funeral Home, singers and pallbearers.

For the food, flowers, cards, visits, words of comfort, and your prayers, we shall always be grateful, and may God bless each of you.
