Alma Syble Cooper Hester, 97, Russellville, Alabama, died Monday, April 29, 2002, at Red Bay Hospital.

Mrs. Hester was a native of Franklin County and a member of Belgreen Church of Christ.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 2, 2002, at Pinkard Funeral Home chapel, Russellville, with Jackie Richardson and Raymond Harville officiating. Burial will be in Belgreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, is directing.

Survivors include her children, Bill Hester and wife, Genell, Ann Hester Taylor and husband, John, Sue Hester Taylor and husband, Raymond, Wayne Hester and wife, Carolyn, Gerald R. Hester and wife, Kathy, all of Russellville; son-in-law, Gerald Hooper, Russellville; sisters-in-law, Eva Cooper and Annie B. Hester, both of Russellville; 17 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, T. E. "Red" Hester; daughter, Betty Jo Hooper; and three grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Belgreen Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund or your favorite charity.
