The other teachers for that year in 1949, Spruce Pine were Roxie Lucile Britton, (b: February 29, 1916, in Franklin County, Alabama; d: May 30, 1991, in Spruce Pine, Franklin County, Alabama), and her sister Mary Lance Britton, (b: June 25, 1918, in Franklin County, Alabama, d: in Spruce Pine, Franklin County, Alabama).  Both sisters were red headed.
