1929: Paralysis Causes Death of
Mrs. A. M. Malone
The death angel visited the home of A. M. Malone, who lives east
of Belmont, on Sunday, July 28, and took from him his wife. Mrs. Malone died at 4:10 p.m.
She had been ill for about three weeks, and during that time had suffered three strokes of
paralysis.
She was 58 years, five months, and 23 days old at the time of her death and had been a
member of the Baptist Church for about 41 years.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Baptist cemetery at Pleasant Site, with
Rev. Chas. Nelson of Belmont in charge of the rites.
Mrs. Malone, nee Mary Modena Ramsey, was married to A. M. Malone October 24, 1886, and to
their union were born eight children, of whom six survive. In addition to her husband and
those children she leaves 19 grandchildren, two sisters, a brother and a number of other
relatives and friends to mourn her going away.
IN MEMORY OF YOU, MY MOTHER DEAR
Whose going away leaves this world so dark and drear.
Mother, dear, how we miss you,
miss you more and more each year.
Miss you more especially,
as our home-coming time draws near,
Mother, dear, while we wish and yearn for you,
We know that you are asleep and cannot come,
you are called to awake,
We pray you may have a happy home of rest.
