Eliza Jane (Bolton) Hooper (1845 - 1916) (37239 bytes)

Elizabeth "Eliza: Ann BOLTON, daughter of Benjamin Littleberry BOLTON
and Emaline Elizabeth JONES, was born March 12, 1845 in Alabama,
died March 26, 1916, at age 71, and buried in Old
Belgreen Cemetery, Franklin Coetery, Alabama.

Eliza married James Wesley HOOPER, son of Reuben HOOPER and Mary
Serina "Polly" HUNNICUTT, on December 29, 1864. James was born 
April 6, 1840, in Alabama, died February 11, 1902, at age 64, and
was buried February 12, 1902, in Old Belgreen Cemetery, Franklin County,
Alabama. They had seven children: Amos Walter, Anna Laura,
Robert L. "Uncle Bob," Albert Edgar, William Rufus "Uncle Bill,"
Mary Elizabeth "Aunt Molly," and Jesse Florence.

James Wesley Hooper served with CO B 35 ALA INF CSA. 
The meteorite that fell on Franklin County, Alabama on
December 5, 1868, was found by James Wesley Hooper.


Children:

1-Amos Walter HOOPER born November 26, 1865, died August 1, 1867, at age 1, and buried in Greenhill-Ezzell Cemetery, Franklin County, Alabama.

2-Anna Laura HOOPER born February 18, 1868, in Alabama and died on an unknown date.    Anna married John W. JACKSON on December 24, 1885. John was born March 11, 1845, and died December 12, 1905, at age 60. They had seven children: Arthur E., Albert W., Charles M., Eliza E., John B., Mary B., and Willie F..   Anna next married [--?--] CROWELL.

3-Robert L. "Uncle Bob" HOOPER born November 5, 1870, in Alabama and died on an unknown date.   Uncle Bob married Mary A. SHELL on September 11, 1892. Mary A. SHELL died on an unknown date. They had seven children: Jessie Etta, Robert Nelson, Alice May, Arley Clarence, Hubert Price, Boyce, and Lois.

4-Albert Edgar HOOPER born March 13, 1873, died October 12, 1874, at age 1, and buried in Greenhill-Ezzell Cemetery, Franklin County, Alabama.

5-William Rufus "Uncle Bill" HOOPER born January 3, 1876, in Alabama, died November 11, 1957, at age 81, and buried in Greenhill-Ezzell Cemetery, Franklin County, Alabama.  Uncle Bill married 1st. to Ophelia Ann WILLIS on September 1, 1897. Ophelia was born January 23, 1883, died August 16, 1909, at age 26, and buried in Greenhill-Ezzell Cemetery, Franklin County, Alabama. They had five children:  Ollie Florence, John Albert, Olen C., William Ernest, and Annie Arvella.  Uncle Bill next married Della HESTER. Della was born April 21, 1881, and died June 26, 1952, at age 71, and buried in Greenhill-Ezzell Cemetery, Franklin County, Alabama.

6-Mary Elizabeth "Aunt Molly" HOOPER born January 18, 1879, in Alabama, died February 13, 1944, at age 65, and buried in Old Belgreen Cemetery, Franklin County, Alabama.

7-Jesse Florence HOOPER born February 17, 1885, in Colbert County, Alabama, died August 4, 1973, in the hospital in Russellville, Alabama, at age 88, and buried August 6, 1973, in New Belgreen Cemetery, Franklin County, Alabama.   Jesse married Walter Alexander HESTER, son of Wiley Robertson HESTER and Mourn Christiny THOMPSON, on December 6, 1904, in Belgreen, Franklin County, Alabama. Walter was born November 17, 1881, in Belgreen, Franklin County, Alabama, died July 27, 1964, in the hospital in Russellville, Alabama, at age 82, and buried July 29, 1964, in New Belgreen Cemetery, Franklin County, Alabama.  They had nine children: Foy Benton, Clovis Roberson, Eula Florence, Ola Pearl, Walter Odell, Eva Rebecca, Ima Lois, Morris Leon, and Effie Marie.
